MHEA Art Contest Rules
FREE for current MHEA members
Do you have a promising Picasso or gifted Van Gogh? They’ll have a captive audience at the annual MHEA Art Contest! The contest is open to current MHEA members grades K-12; there will also be a category for special learners. The 2017 contest will be held Friday, August 11 at Faith Baptist Church.
General Information - Awards will be presented to all participants. Maximum of two entries per student in each category. MHEA can enter a maximum of two pieces per grade (but only 1 entry per student) from the Painting & Drawing category in the Delta Fair. The entries will be determined at the discretion of the judges. Local homeschoolers can enter drawing/painting artwork in the Delta Fair only through a homeschool association, and those chosen to go to the Delta Fair representing MHEA will be asked to verify that they do not have art from any other homeschool association being entered in the Delta Fair. Painting/drawing entries displayed at the Delta Fair may be picked up at the MHEA office after September 12, during regular office hours.
Entrants in the Lego, origami, and photo categories are not restricted in their entries into the Delta Fair. Those who would like to enter their art in the Lego, origami, and photo categories in the Delta Fair will be responsible for arranging this on their own. Information on entering these items in the Delta Fair may be obtained at http://www.deltafest.com/p/compete/crafts. In addition to these three, the Delta Fair has many other contest categories that youth and adults can enter on their own. These may be found at the link previously cited; also, a Delta Fair representative will be present at Art Contest drop-off and pick-up to answer any questions.
